Paramount Pictures "Footloose" Auditions

The big screen remake of the popular 1984 film "Footloose" is currently in pre-production. The film is being directed by Kenny Ortega of High School Musical fame. The casting directors are casting the female lead as well as several other principal actor roles. "It's a much more singing-intensive movie for the female lead," said producer Neil Meron. Chace Crawford has recently been set to star in the remake.

The film was on hold until March, 2010 after Zac Efron backed out of the film, but pre-production is now a go and Paramount has set a June 18, 2010 release date for the film.
